Dr.Michelle L. SpittlerOD
Dr. Michelle L. Spittler has been an optometrist in Columbia, SC since 1997. Dr. Spittler is a native of Northwest Ohio and did her undergraduate studies in Biology-Chemistry at Manchester College in North Manchester, IN. She completed her Doctor of Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1997. Dr. Spittler also trained at the Veteran’s Medical Administration in Huntington, WV where she worked with the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. Dr. Spittler practices primary care optometry and has a special interest in ocular disease management and contact lenses . She sees patients from age six and up for vision problems needing correction with glasses or contact lenses or the treatment of eye disease.
In 2012 Dr. Spittler became a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She is an active member of the South Carolina Optometric Physician’s Association and served on the Board of Directors from 2003-2007. Dr. Spittler was honored to receive the Horizon Award in 2000 by the SC Optometric Physician’s Association. She is a Past- President of the local Midlands Optometric Society, and has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1992. Dr. Spittler is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Gills Creek Watershed Association. In her free time she enjoys cooking, hiking, and relaxing with her family.
Dr.Jennifer V. Seibert
Dr. Jennifer Seibert completed her undergraduate degree in 2005 at Clemson University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then finished her optometry doctorate at University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2011. To further specialize her skills, she completed a one-year pediatric residency at the University of Missouri St. Louis. During her residency, she worked extensively with cases involving strabismus, amblyopia, brain injuries, convergence/divergence difficulties and dyslexia.
While Dr. Seibert does have experience with concerns specific to the pediatric population, she also developed a diverse skill set for patients of all ages. Dr. Seibert has experience treating patients with diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and hypertensive retinopathy. She also fit many specialty contact lenses. Dr. Seibert enjoyed volunteering with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and RAM (Remote Area Medical).
Currently, Dr. Seibert is active with the American Optometric Association, including the local branch, the Midlands Optometric Society. She volunteers locally at the Midlands Eye Care Clinic. Dr. Seibert joined Dr. Michelle L. Spittler & Associates in September 2014.
In her free time, Dr. Seibert enjoys refinishing furniture, interior decorating, baking, cooking and spending time with her family.
